Jubilee Triples tournament: 3rd - 8th August 2009
Jubilee triples week at Lindfield reached its climax on Saturday with 8 teams from the original entry of 32 competing for the cash
prizes, which this year totalled £450 thanks to the generous sponsorship of Apex Windows, Lindfield Garage and Masters and Son.
After the initial group games the two finalists were confirmed as Ray Jordan, Sandy Powell and Brian Howson from Burgess Hill and
Richard Flower, Neil Parrington and Mick Read from Buxted Park, with both teams boasting unbeaten records on the day. With the
final being played over 7 ends Burgess Hill took a grip on the game by picking up 3 shots on the third end to open up a 5-0 lead
and they eventually ran away with the match to win 10-0 and collect the £180 first prize.
In the third/fourth play off the West Hoathly trio of Dai Howick, Trevor Swainson and Maurice Styles completed a 7-2 win over
Uckfield's Andy Corbin, Mel Woodhams and Adrian Wainwright.
