Safeguarding Adults Policy

Lindfield Bowling Club affiliates to Bowls England and has adopted their 'Adults Safeguarding Policy and Procedures May 2020'.

This Policy was developed and promoted by The Bowls Development Alliance. Its aim is to outline the duty and responsibility of all Club members to help ensure the safety and protection of all adults at risk.

Lindfield Bowling Club is committed to creating a safe and positive environment for all people involved in the sport. We have a responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all our members and to safeguard adults who are experiencing, or at risk of abuse, neglect or exploitation.

All members, regardless of age, ability or disability, gender, race, religion, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, marital or transgender status have the right to be protected from harm, abuse and poor practice and to play bowls in an enjoyable and safe environment.

All Club members have a role and responsibility to help ensure the safety and welfare of adults and to report any safeguarding concerns, whether these concerns arise within bowls or outside.

Lindfield Bowling Club has appointed a Safeguarding Officer who is the first point of contact to report any concerns.

All suspicions and allegations of abuse and poor practice will be taken seriously by the Club and responded to swiftly and appropriately.

A further copy of the Policy, together with associated Guidelines, contact details and further information, can also be found on the Safeguarding noticeboard in the Clubhouse and in the Safeguarding file at the side of the Bar.
